TLAD Project Featured in Providence Journal Article

Project Open Door - a college access program for urban teens housed in RISD's Department of Teaching + Learning in Art + Design was featured in a recent Providence Journal article - one of a series devoted to matters of "Race in Rhode Island" and which was subtitled "Art Matters" While the article captured the insights of number of individuals involved in equity work around arts access, Project Open Door's work with artistically, yet underserved teens, attending public and charter schools in Rhode Island's urban core cites became a significant thread throughout the article. And, indeed the story of one of POD's "alumni" Alvaro Morales - a Mt. Pleasant High School student who enrolled in POD during his senior year and who is now a RISD freshman was introduced by the article's author as being emblematic of POD's commitment to access and the advancement of the teens with which it works.
